Also back this year the Festival of Sicilian wines in Marsala, which is celebrating its seventh year of life.
The event called "Enodamiani" because traditionally organized dallŽI.S.I.S.S. "Abele Damiani" of Marsala, takes place March 17 to 20 with a series of events, which stars the Sicilian wine.
The project, conducted under the auspices of the town of Marsala and the Office for Sicily Region to agricultural resources, as well as with the support of many agricultural cellars, will kick off Thursday, March 17 with a tasting of wines from the cellars of Marsala. Thanks also to the production that takes place in this city, the province of Trapani alone produces 10% of Italian wine, although only 20% of this production is labeled.
Just to rattle off some numbers: in Sicily are produced six million hectoliters with 110,000 hectares of land for the cultivation of vineyards.
There are several varieties that are grown in the region as Zibibbo and Nero DŽAvola, famous for his formidable red wine.
This exhibition is also an opportunity to further increase the longer the wine tourism, which many wineries have started with the arrival of the tourists in the company to allow a wine tasting locally bottled with a chance to sample many culinary specialties that best match the white and red wines.
Returning to the festival on Friday, March 18 will be dedicated to a competition where students of the 3rd, 4th and 5th year Hospitality Institute will perform in front of a jury AIBES for those who have prepared the best cocktails and the day Saturday at 10 is scheduled for the conference with the theme "DOC and DOCG - territorial Enhancement and socio-economic importance", with numerous experts. At the end of the conference will be held the awards ceremony of the wine festival.
The exhibition will end on Sunday, March 20 when, from 17 to 20 hours the school will open its doors to the city for the traditional tasting of desserts prepared by the students and wines under review.
