E ´was opened at the Palace of the Vicar of Trapani collection "The Salerniana", permanent exhibition organized by the Cultural and artistic association "The Salerniana".
The entity, which has no profit, was founded in Erice in 1972 by the poet Giacomo Tranchida, who had the inspired idea of setting up an art prize of contemporary painting to be exhibited in the spaces of the famous Via Salerno notar of Erice, the name the "Salerniana" from here.
Subsequently the activities of the association evolves in the way we know it today thanks to the work of Joseph Perricone, a senator of the Republic, intellectual and art lover, who succeeded Tranchida in the guide of the prestigious cultural institution.
In 2004 the association establishing Erice a civic gallery of contemporary art, named after Senator Joseph Perricone, who died in 1997, in which it is exposed, thanks to the collaboration of the town of Erice, and the donations of many artists of the twentieth century, a collection of works contemporary art, which are the expression of different artistic movements that have developed in the twentieth century.
Over the last few years The Salerniana decided to exhibit in every part of Sicily to raise awareness of the many art lovers the beauty and creativity of the works of great contemporary Sicilian artists such as Carla Accardi caliber, Antonio Sanfilippo and Pietro Consagra.
After exposing the royal palace of Palermo and at the Orestiadi Gibellina Foundation, where there was a great public and critical success, the art exhibition La Salerniana get to Trapani, which throughout the year 2016 You will admire and will be open every day from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 to 12.30 and from 16.30 to 19.30.
