It was inaugurated on December 19, the Municipal Art Gallery of Marsala an exhibition, which will be on display with 5 paintings, which were donated in 2015 by five great artists of national reputation and that will remain accessible to the many fans for all parties Christmas until next January 31.
The artists who donated this year the works are Claudio Olivieri, Francesco De Grandi, Alberto Gianquinto, Francesco Sarnari and Achille Pace.
The location of the gallery is quite striking, because it is inside the Convento del Carmine, with adjoining the Church, originally dedicated to the worship of the Carmelites to Mary Annunciation, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
With the suppression of religious orders in 1866, the complex was acquired by the Italian State and is since 1988 seat of the Exhibition of Contemporary Painting, which plays an important role in the promotion of culture within the activities figurative.
The gallery now has more than 750 works by artists of great national and international prestige including Cassinari, Cagli, Conti, Cantatore, Maccari, Marchegiani, Tomato, Sassu, Sironi, Tosi and Tozzi.
The Art Gallery provides for the duration of the exposure of the guided tours inside the Convent.
