SAILING REGATTAS IN TRAPANI

The medieval port of Trapani, on Sicily's west coast will host 23 to 26 September, the penultimate round of the International circuit racing Extreme Sailing Series 2010.
Seven crews will take part in the race.
Representing the Sicilian sample Gabriele Bruni, with a 'wildcard' will participate aboard the Sailing Seacily Trapani, with him to complete the crew: Albert Sonino, Mario Noto and Joseph Leonardi.
Extreme Sailing Series Races will be held on board the Extreme 40 fast, 12-meter catamarans built entirely of carbon, whose crew consists of four people plus a guest.
That of Extreme Sailing Series is one of only four circuits in the world that has been assigned the status of Special Event ISAF (International Sailing Federation). The tour is organized by OC Events, a UK company controlled by Oc ThirdPole, group specializing in outdoor events, and is the only sailing event that attracts the best sailors in the world from different disciplines (America's Cup, Olympics, and ocean racing) .
Trapani back, so, to be a leader of great international sailing. With a unique geographical position, the city of two seas, guarantees, favorable weather conditions. Act in 2005 hosted the America's Cup, that they come right in the circuit of major international sailing events.
The official September 23, hours. ... The first day of racing.
The fleet of catamarans Extreme will battle to the sound of wind in the classic windward / leeward (windward-leeward) which will be completed within the port before the opening ceremony which will take place at 18.30.
The spectators will be able to see samples of sailing and racing and also hear their excited voices during the challenges. Because the characteristics of these challenges is the closeness of the race course to the public.
Friday, September 24th at 14:00 will start the real competition.
Will challenge 48 world titles, 21 participations in the Olympics, 14 to 19 records around the world and won. Among the most popular names, those of French and Frank Cammas Loïck Peyron, Mike Golding of English and Austrian Roman Hagar.
