It was inaugurated on October 2 and will be open to visitors until 10 January 2016, the exhibition "From the kitchen to the table of Lilibetani" at the Archaeological Museum "Lilibeo" Marsala.
The cultural event is organized with the collaboration of the Friends of the Archaeological Park of Marsala under the initiatives of the Region of Sicily at the Expo 2015, which is dedicated to the theme of food.
And the food you eat to the ancient Lilibei, who lived Marsala, focuses this exhibition, which will be exposed kitchen utensils, pots for storage and cooking food, tableware and various ruins that were used to the consummation of the meals, which were found during excavations in the archaeological Lilibeo.
It ´a journey to discover the various exhibits, which are accompanied by various teaching aids and some recipes of Apicius and Cato, that are useful to give an idea about the eating habits Punic-Roman ruins, including the famous spiced wine.
The opening will conclude with a tasting of some of the food and spiced wine (mulsum), prepared by the Institute ISISS "Abele Damiani" Marsala according to old recipes, and the precious sweet, kindly offered by the Cantine Paolini, a historical reference to the ancient passum that was served during the rich banquet of the Punic-Roman.
It ´a blast from the past that visiting tourists, but also the same Marsala can do every day from 9 to 19.30, while on Monday afternoon, the museum is closed.
