For tourists or even for simple residents, who are lovers of trekking and hiking in the great outdoors, to Sunday, September 27, 2015, there will be more opportunity; In fact, on that date were inaugurated nell´agroericino two nature trails, which wind through the mountain, reaching the summit.
The town of Erice has already developed signs, thanks to a project, which is called "Trekking Tourism", involving the Gal Elimos, as the party leader and as the subject partners Cai, the association Erice Doc Wine Roads and the municipalities of Erice Buseto Palizzolo, Castellammare del Golfo, Custonaci, San Vito Lo Capo and Valderice.
The project falls within the objective of enhancing the natural tourism especially in a province where beach tourism is paramount, because our territory is not only sea, but also mountains with paths and trails, that should be valued and made known.
In fact the paths identified and involved in the project are manifold, but those inaugurated on September 27 of 2015 were the first two, at 9.30 with two separate trips and are the paths of St. Anne, which runs on a 5 km route and goes from the cable car to get up to Trapani port, and the port of Castellammare-three churches, which runs from Porta Sword along the northern slope of the mountain, to the remains of Porta Castellammare, and then touch the churches St. Mary Magdalene, St. Hippolytus and Santa Maria Maggiore.
Both trips were completed by noon the Spanish Quarter, where he was then officially presented the project "Trekking Tourism", proposed in 2013 and funded by the Region of Sicily.
