Highlight of the week of Cous Cous Fest in San Vito Lo Capo is the concert Elio e le Storie Tese, who will perform on September 22 in Piazza Sanctuary starting at 21.30.
The group, originally from Milan, was artistically born in 1979 from what is considered the soul of the group, Stephen Belisari, aka Elio.
The name of the group is very unique, because the name Elio comes from the name of the protagonist of the first song written by Belisario, and therefore also decided to personally assume the pseudonym, while the "Storie Tese" comes from a phrase that is pronounced in another musical composition.
From here Elio founded the group, which we now know and love, with an increase of the ever increasing popularity, which is not only at young audiences, but his style of crazy rock shows to have an eclectic all-out, dealing with the issues more diverse, with a strong social value.
The group reached the height of success in 1996 with the participation in the Sanremo Festival with "la terra dei cachi" which can apparently be seen as a song by the strong content of social protest against the country´s problems as the mafia, the medical malpractice and corruption, but actually reading more correct is that Elio e Le Storie Tese have wanted to do a parody of the typical songs of Sanremo.
In fact they are always placed as a band outside the schemes, even aesthetically speaking, so when they are presented on the stage of the Ariston for the first time, have broken with their style liturgy San Remo with a song very wacky, but that the public and especially the critics liked, ranking second in the singing competition.
The Sanremo Festival will return in 2008, but as entertainers of Dopofestival, gaining even on this occasion a great success; but we must wait until 2013 to find them as participants in the festival with the song Mononota.
Also in this edition it is ranked second, won the critics´ award for best arrangement, attributed by the orchestra.
