One of the events that has now consolidated in the world of exhibitions enogestronomiche the territory is "Red Garlic and White Sale" sponsored by the City of Paceco.

The food and wine festival is now in its seventh edition and will take place on 11-12-13 September 2015 in the picturesque location of the salt museum of Nubia and across the natural reserve the salt pans of Trapani and Paceco with the objective to promote the salt road with all its natural and gastronomic heritage.

Three days will be full of food and wine events, guided tours, conferences, exhibitions-market, and every evening at sunset he renewed the ancient tradition of hand harvesting salt with traditional songs that the salt workers performed as if they were celebrating a secular rite in one unique setting between water tanks and windmills.

This food and wine festival will be two local products: sea salt from Trapani and Nubia red garlic, both protagonists of cooking shows, demonstrations, tastings and insights and locals, maybe they will say just because they are produced in the kitchens became daily or balconies, where garlic is traditionally hung in braids, but tourists are not well known and do not know the culinary and nutritional value.



The production area of ​​garlic not only includes the area of ​​Nubia, but interesting part of the city of Trapani, Erice, the northern area of ​​Marsala and Salemi: a total of about 90 hectares. But now they cultivate about 15, in rotation with melon, beans and wheat. It is sown in autumn and harvested fresh in May during the night.

During the event there will be guided tours, which will affect the salt pans, the Tower of Nubia and restored mills and the Salt Museum, which will be accessible free of charge.
