With the procession of the Mysteries of the Living Buseto Palizzolo on Palm Sunday is officially open events of Holy Week in the province of Trapani.
As per tradition, every year since 1981 is renewed the procession of the Mysteries, which attracts many people not only from neighboring countries, but also many tourists who come to admire the living pictures depicting the events of the Passion of Christ until the resurrection when Jesus appears before the disciples of Emmaus.
Over the years the traditional scheme of the procession has changed appearance, because the traditional eleven groups we moved to the current 16 square undergoing major changes and additions, which however does not distort the basic idea of the event, which, unique , is included among the most important events of Holy Week in Sicily.
The procession is organized by the Confraternita del Crocifisso that care for 35 years with great faith and passion in organizing the event and committed various members throughout the year, ensuring the selection of participants, mostly inhabitants of Buseto Palizzolo, that must impersonate the characters described in the gospels, remaining motionless until seem real statues.
The scenes are represented on the platforms, which are decorated with olive trees, laurel and natural herbs, which reproduce live the places and landscapes of passion.
They also are pulled by tractors, which run through the streets of the city of Buseto from afternoon until 22.30.
The procession is particularly striking especially in the evening when the stillness of the characters is particularly emerged clearly from the carefully placed lights.
We would particularly emphasize that the procession of the Mysteries of living Buseto was awarded the prize "Italive 2014, which is a prestigious award in the category" Living History "by the Codacons, in partnership with Autostrade for Italy and the collaboration of Coldiretti , informing motorists on the calendar of the best events in a context which also excellent products and food and wine offers.
The municipality of Buseto Palizzolo will receive the award on 12 March in Rome.
