It will be inaugurated on June 26, at 18, on the premises of the Diocesan Museum of St. Augustine Church and the regional museum "Agostino Pepoli" of Trapani, the exhibition show entitled "Heroes, values, deeds of Sharpshooters in the Great War."
The exhibition, which is part of the commemorative activities in Europe for the celebration of the centenary of the start of the 1st World War, has had notable collaborations, for example with the RAI, the Ministry of Defence, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Historical Museum of sharpshooters of Rome.
Also crucial collaboration with the diocesan curia, the municipality of Trapani, the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, the State Archives, the National Associations Sharpshooters and, of course, the 6th Regiment Sharpshooters of Trapani.
The exhibition, which will tell through images, movies, and more than 150 relics, the glorious history of sharpshooters and the important contribution to the country, the unification of Italy in the First World War.
At present the exhibition, through a press conference, will be the Bishop of Trapani Pietro Maria Fragnelli, the commander of the 6th Regiment of Sharpshooters, Colonel Mauro Sindoni, Director of the Historical Museum of the Bersaglieri, Colonel Nuncio Paolucci, and those responsible of the project: the architect Louis Biondo, director of the Museum "A. Pepoli ", and Lieutenant Colonel Peter Alongi. The fanfare of the 6th Regiment, will hold a short concert on the occasion of the music of an ordinance of the Sharpshooters.
We will then enter into the heart of the event, introduced by a brief historical journey that goes from the War of Independence to the present day, without neglecting the crucial stages of Italian and world history, such as the two world wars. In addition, you will focus the operational reality of the 6th Regiment that our city has the honor of having.
The exhibition will be open to the public until 13 July, Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 12 am and from 16:30 to 19:30.
