The festival in honor of the patron saint is a very felt by the inhabitants of San Vito Lo Capo, which annually honor the Santo for several days until June 15, the day on which it is rightly revered martyr mazarese.
It begins June 7, Marinella Square, where a rally will be held at 19:30 dedicated to disabled people, because of unusual Hockey, entitled "Sport for Life: Hockey in a wheelchair." An original idea and especially praiseworthy, which highlights the attention given to everyone, even to those who are less fortunate and differently abled. A Cure event, the A. Š.D. Eagles Palermo.
Tuesday, 10, at 20, tamburinata and around the streets of the country´s "trawler" - the banner of the municipality that has the name of the humble boat and house of net used for fishing -.
Thursday 12, at 20, Piazza Santuario will be held the traditional and popular games such as tug of war, sack race and "pignatteddi." At 21:30, however, the square will be animated by the music show curated by Tonino Di Bella and his band.
Friday the 13th, we start in the morning, at 9 am, with the traditional tamburinata. It will resume at 20 Piazza Santuario, where they will be re-proposed the fun traditional games. Always Piazza Santuario, at 21:30, will be staged on the dance show by ASD Ritmosfera Dance, Francesca Minaudo and Deborah Auction.
Saturday 14, still tamburinata at 9 am, while the afternoon will be animated by moments of particular interest and enjoyment: it starts with a parade of carts "scecchi, caccavetta and simenza" through the streets, at 17. Parade will be followed by another, the 17:30 Majorette Group of San Vito Lo Capo. Finally, Majorette and the town band, will take the procession of the city authorities to the Shrine of the Patron Saint. The day will end at 21 with a performance by the Band City of Paceco.
Sunday 15th will be the main day: at 8:30 am, "alborata" and, later, around the streets of the Band of San Vito. At 15, at the pier groynes, will start the party of fishermen, fun game with the antenna in the sea. It is a 10 meter long pole suspended over the water and soaped at the end of which is the flag that the winner must grab. Laughter insured because of the many falls in the water and some of the participants.
At 20, the Promenade, will begin hearing a reenactment by the St. Vitus Marine, during which the statue of the saint is carried on the shoulders by devotees, covered insignia - the crown (the prize of God), the palm (the victory of martyrdom), the cross (the force of faith) and the cloak of gold votive offerings of the faithful (their devotion). It will conclude with fireworks.
