Like every year , Marsala recalls the landing of a Thousand , key event of the delicate Italian Risorgimento . A series of initiatives will remember the epic , with the main day of May 11 , the day of the Landing at Marsala Giuseppe Garibaldi and his loyal and brave men , took place precisely on 11 May 1860 .
The 154th Anniversary of the Landing will begin to be remembered with the exhibition which will be held Friday, May 9 , at 11 am , at St. Peterīs Complex . " Sicily : Garibaldi Places of memory " is the title of the exhibition curated by Aldo Sessa , which will have to be relics from the background , the fascinating history and artistic clothes , uniforms and weapons of the Thousand , original documents, photo archive and even a chair on which he rested after the arrival of Garibaldi at Marsala. After the main hall of the museum , dedicated to " James Giustolisi " , you enter the room devoted to the Thousand and Mito, where there are portraits, paintings, photographs and prints that depict the faces of those who contributed to the unification process national ended March 17, 1861 .
