The Association "The Flagellation" , which handles and manages the Group´s Sacred entrusted to the Maestranza of Bricklayers and Stonemasons in the Procession of the Mysteries of Trapani , proposed a laudable event in terms of culture and religion in the city - will also be involved schools elementary , middle and high schools.
Will be exposed , in fact, the precious objects that on Good Friday , during the procession of the Mysteries , adorn the Group .
The show, which you can already admire and appreciate, includes some of the silvers that are part of the treasures belonging to the statues of Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady Massari .
"The goal - as the organizers keen to point out - is to meet the needs of the public that it will not forget the culture , respect and awareness of their own Sicilian roots , put at risk by the growing phenomenon of globalization in action."
" Another goal of the event - added - is to make visible to the Lenten period of the precious ancient workmanship and extraordinary beauty , which in fact are only visible during the procession of the Mysteries on Good Friday. The occasion will also want to provide additional elements for the study of local artisan techniques , spreading the uniqueness and peculiarity of the work of skilled goldsmiths Trapani between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries . "
For the preparation of the valuable exposure , was set up a special technical committee , composed by Luigi Blonde, architect M. Cristina Cusenza and Dr. Danilo Gianformaggio .
The project was co- financed by the Regional Assembly of Sicily, thanks to the efforts of Mr Paul Ruggirello .
The exposure of the Holy Column and precious owned by the group of the Flagellation will continue until Thursday, April 17th , the date immediately prior to the procession of the Mysteries on Good Friday.
The opening view of the exposure will be from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00 at the sacristy of the church of the holy souls in Purgatory in Trapani.
