There has unveiled the 1872 Arthur Rimbaud in his famous poem entitled Voice memo ( Voyelles ) . The vision of Rimbaud opened his eyes to many artists. He recalled that the words are also made to be seen , that their sound can be represented . Rimbaud at the bottom of discovering an original dimension of words, gone gone when the alphabets triumphed over the hieroglyphics , and the writing seemed to lose much of its visual power . And so, also because of Rimbaud , the twentieth century became the century of visual poetry. The word has been incorporated in the painting , the boundaries between painting and writing were thinned again , as in the days of the pictographs of the ancient Egyptians . They started the Futurists , sensational and roaring , to the rhythm of Zang Tumb Tumb of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti , in the words of freedom drawn in dizzying whirls by Fortunato Depero or with guns in action paintings by Gino Severini, who spat letters instead of bullets. The others then have followed suit : the Dadaists , the surrealists , pop art , the Group 63 . All avant-garde, small or large , bold or unrealistic , you are made to make art with words, inventing architectures letters. The works of Sammartano through build a word or phrase illusory worlds or dreams , whatever you want .
