Artists from all over the world and from the world of painting , sculpture and photography exhibit a total of nearly 40 works share a common reflection on the subject of food. Introspection , to the rediscovery of traditions, the most original graphic interpretations , the "food " is based , in this group , showing some of its many faces. On display are the works of Francesca Bianchi, Yu- Chuan Chang, Roberta Colombo , Gaspare De Stefano , Eglė Grėbliauskaitė , Antonello Incagnone , Kong Wee Pang , Anastasia Titova and Mirta Vignatti . During the vernissage the internationally acclaimed chef Giuseppe Giuffre will conduct a performance of show cooking.
Food is a basic need , physiological , the only one who has become a means of socialization and through which it is possible to convey feelings and emotions. It can even be understood in a spiritual sense , as a metaphor of nourishment for the soul. Declined in many variations : junk food, raw food , unique , traditional, delicious , food is always the protagonist of life and therefore of art. Care and comfort of themselves and their loved ones , or a scapegoat for the frustrations and dissatisfactions . And in web companies could not take on new forms , cleared through customs by a thousand television programs . The art has in common with the food the ability to interact , be through , encourage sharing. Declinable so in many ways the theme of the exhibition, as declinable in infinite shades are art and communication in general. The purpose of this exhibition is to show the various interpretations of this "element" , so inescapable in everybody´s life , and on which a great part of artists is adept at least once in their artistic career. The selected works show how the artistic approach corresponds personal approach towards this vital source of life. We observe then that works hark back to the tradition and simplicity of " casalinghitudine " ( as defined by Roberta Colombo) : the tastes of ancient , almost poor, linked to a story or an anecdote, dishes that tell a piece of history , even if not to force a story we know. And on the other hand, conceptual research , which suggest a "second reading " graphic works , photographs macro. What eats an artist ? We ask Mirta Vignatti and peeked through her camera what his eyes devour every day. Each participating author gave a very personal and original contribution , revealing ways to interpret and perceive reality beyond the theme of the exhibition . It includes the choice of the medium used , the style, the line that has given the project presented by the visible portion on which he has decided to work . Coming from different countries around the world : Italy , Taiwan, United States - just to name a few - it is natural that it is an insight into different cultures , mentalities and reflections . For this reason the choice of the title " Your Food" : not only "food" or is only one way to interpret it , but the " you " , "your" food : why the interaction continues incessantly bringing new exchanges of ideas and nurturing.
Artists on display Francesca Bianchi, a young photographer and creator of jewelry and design objects , lives and works in Volterra. He has exhibited in Italy and in London. There are 3 macro - photographs that represent three basic nutrients : water, milk and an onion , from a perspective very close . Each image in " hides" another : between the drops of water you can see an eye , the corolla of milk forms a small section of the heart and a twinkle onion almost stellar .
