It was made official in Marsala, the assignment of the third and only Italian stop of the Kitesurf Freestyle World Cup, which will take place in the village in June 25 to 30, part of the events planned for "Marsala Wine Cities 2013", the prestigious title awarded by "Recevin", the network of geographical areas most important to winemaking vocation of the Old Continent. To decide was the PKRA (Kiteboard riders association), corresponding to FIFA for football, which manages the discipline of Freestyle for over twelve years, and is directly recognized by the International Kiteboard Class, IKA. The Kite is played with a small table (kiteboarding), driven by a large kite gliding on the water at high speeds up to 100 km per hour. It is divided into various disciplines: Slalom, Wave Riding the Speed (speed events), the Racing and Freestyle which is preferred by young people. In the latter category athletes (the riders) will compete in head to head, in a quadrilateral, in front of five international judges, performing jumps, even twenty feet high, and spectacular developments. It is among the water sports related to the wind, that had a greater increase of fans and the public in the last decade. The Stagnone lagoon on the coast of Marsala is regarded for its shape and strength of the wind a race track ideal. Back in 2007, has been chosen to host a round of the World Championship and, in 2013, was confirmed by the PKRA, in response to the three circles of kitesurf, The Ways of the Wind, Sicily Kite School, Sicily Kite Lounge. The same people who had the honor to train as an athlete, singer Gianna Nannini. The organizational aspects of the stage have been entrusted to SI Events that will work with the town of Marsala. The World Cup will be in addition to racing for five days a continuous evolution of initiatives related to extreme sports, set within a shopping village with an area of about 8000 square meters hospitality and artistic performances and music from 10.00 till 02.30 in the morning. These include: bikini contest, fitness, climbing, beach volleyball, fashion shows and live concerts. The event will be presented in Milan, the BIT, the stand of the City of Marsala, on the 14th of February, in the presence of journalists from tourism, gastronomy, sports and opinion leaders. During the conference presentation which was held at the Monumental Complex of St. Peter Marsala was presented the spot of Sicily Kitesurf World Cup Freestyle, created by filmmaker Fabrizio Inserillo, former operator of the backstage last advertising campaign of a known telephone company, turned Sicily with Raul Bova and Teresa Mannino. The protagonists of the "showreel" kiters are Sicilian, Maria Piscopo, Italian champion and European Freestyle Slalom and Elena Rizzo, Ferrara transplanted to Marsala for kite surfing.
