The Union of Craftsmen of Trapani has approved the calendar of Scinnute 2013 for Mysteries of Trapani.
The "scinnute" (the dialect of Sicilian descent) are an ancient ritual that dates back to 1600. Tradition dictates that, in fact, to "go down" the statues of the Mysteries of Trapani from their usual housing to expose them to the public.
This process is accompanied by a band to give more charm and theatrical event.
The calendar of Scinnute 2013 therefore provides:
February 15, 2013 - The washing of the feet, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, arrest, The Fall of the Kidron February 22, 2013 - Jesus before Hannan, Jesus before Herod March 1, 2013 - The scourging, the crowning with thorns March 8, 2013 - Ecce Homo, The judgment March 15, 2013 - The Ascent to Calvary March 19, 2013 - Mother of Mercy Massari March 20, 2013 - Mother of Mercy of the People March 22, 2013 - Our Lady of Sorrows.
