Some call it the Byzantine or Norman or simply medieval and today the church of Marettimo to " Roman houses " returns to be a matter of cultural and religious interest , noting the vocation of the sacredness of the ´old Hiera . The cloud that ovattava the site did not at all discouraged organizers and visitors who , indeed , have enjoyed strong emotions entering into the magic of the island . Lots of people attended the ceremony celebrated by Bishop Francesco Trapani Miccichè and Jerome Field pastor of the Island who thanked all those who have contributed to the realization of the ´ event. Even the mayor of the Egadi Lucio Antinoro wanted to emphasize the perfect synergy between collaborative islanders , government (municipal, Superintendent ) of the island and the many friends who have made arrangements with some donations to enhance the simple church with sacred objects. A pleasant surprise was the musical performance on the violin by Roberto Costa of the Friends of Mozart headquarters of Assisi who accompanied some children of the parish choir in the song " Brother Sun, Sister Moon " and a song composed for the occasion, the whose score was given to the Bishop. The presence of the Mayor of Erice James Tranchida corroborated by the fact that ´ Sacred Island , situated in the center of the Mediterranean, part of a strong signal of peace that can be amplified by Erice, City of Peace for excellence , with which we are considering events future . The head of the FAI ( Italian Environment Fund ) Rita Barraco Platamone of Trapani on the island for the occasion called for future collaborations to enhance even more the monumental heritage of the Egadi . The participation of some city councilors , Councillor Enzo Bevilacqua who delivered the "book of signatures " donated by the community of Monterey in Californi , the Commander of the Carabinieri of Favignana, and the Coast Guard Chief Michele Parisi have helped to make even more solemn moment refreshments provided on site with its picnic opening because of weather conditions has been moved in the parish garden in the village even though the beautiful day prevailed leaving by surprise the brave participants who arrived on the island from the " mainland, " with little hope of success of the ceremony , they enjoyed a favorable climate and strong emotions that only Marettimo - IsolaSacra can give. But the emotions were there for the kids .... well , not only with teaching lessons of kites in the ´Cultural Association " Marettimo " and the view from the Old Port to many kites in celo organized by Trapani events that gave a twist to the day that no doubt will be marked in the history of the island .
