Among the initiatives certainly worthy of interest is that undertaken in town of Custonaci : the living crib of Custonaci .
The crib, now in its 31st edition, is organized by the "living museum of Custonaci" which for years has taken on the task of carrying out this initiative suggestive that combines the religious tradition of the crib with the traditional historical / cultural museum living that retraces the crafts and traditions of ancient Sicily.
In fact, in the frame of the Nativity of Custonaci , next to the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and baby Jesus are crafts and typical figures of Sicily was, with actors in the flesh showing crafts and handmade procedures now in danger of extinction.
Hence "u scarparu" (the cobbler) or "u pignataru" (the repairer of pots)
All in spledid frame of Cave Mangiapane , a place from the charisma and undeniable charm. In fact it is a karst cave accompanied by small and old houses where the living crib of Custonaci takes the stage.
