One of the biggest traps located throughout the Mediterranean is undoubtedly the Favignana tuna Florio.
This outstanding example of industrial archeology is nestled on the coast of the largest of the Egadi Islands and watch the sailors as a reminder of the history and economic roots of the island of Favignana.
In fact the factory has increased the economy of the Egadi Islands and the province of Trapani with innovative techniques and methods of production, for its time, modern and effective.
The Florio of Favignana Tuna has undergone a substantial restoration lasted 10 years and since 2010 is a museum complex of all respect that, underneath its towering smokestacks and warehouses within its nineteenth century, often hosts cultural events themed food and wine.
This renewal of the facility has brought Florio of Favignana Tuna (whose exact name is "Ex Factory Florio Tonnare of Favignana and Formica") to be one of the locations privileggiate in planning the events of Favignana and Egadi islands.
