The days of May Sicilian stain thousands of kites for a really impressive event: the fourth edition of "International Kite Festival - Emotions to nose up".
From May 23 to 27, Trapani will host thousands of fans and practitioners of this ancient art and does so on the beautiful beach of San Vito lo Capo. Teams of professionals from around the world will meet to give the audience an experience of light flight, fascinating and exciting. The festival, including athletic competitions, arts and crafts The festival program is varied and will impress all visitors. The event will begin May 23 with the parade of banda music of San Vito lo Capo and the spectacle of the flag. Then every day from 11 to 18, on the white beaches of this town, sports teams will compete in international competitions gliding, aerobatics and air battles between kites, to decide the winner of this fourth edition of the festival.
The festival is also an opportunity for young designers to show their art in a personal way of interpreting the idea of kite. Thus, scattered on the beach, you will see giant, the original cast of quirky, but all colorful and unique. In addition, the festival organizes workshops open to all, where you can build and decorate your kite, then fly it as it should thanks to tips and flight lessons of true professionals.
The flight, poetry and music under the sky of San Vito lo Capo Poetry, music and the commemoration will be the other ingredients that will complete the festival program. The first evening will be made to fly a kite White in memory of Capaci massacre occurred right at May 23, 1992. A poetic and symbolic way to remember this black moment in Italian history, but also a way to give hope through the free flight of the kite.

At the end of the ceremony, to the tune of Hot Pepper Jazz and beauty of the Sicilian night, hundreds of kites in the air will rise, for a show at night really romantic. Saturday evening will be elected Miss and Mister Kite, and kites will dance again in the night to the music of pianist Philip Binaghi. The last evening will be awarded to the winners of the professional races and there will be a closing ceremony.
The tour of the kites But the festival itself is not the final climax of a larger event that covers the entire month of May. In fact 11 to May 22 you can follow the Tour Kite: a preview of the touring festival that travels to Sicily, from beach to beach, to give a taste all Sicilian and visitors can watch the shows that San Vito lo Capo.
