So, from 1 to June 3, San Vito Lo Capo host the culinary competition titled "Vote for the chef Cous Cous Fest", which will participate in all the Italian chefs ready to try their hand at preparing dishes made with semolina peace . This challenge, which has grown over the years, ending with the engaging chef arrived from Sicily but especially imposing on the national scene with the presence of chefs from different regions of Italy, such as Emilia Romagna, Piedmont and Tuscany.
By tradition, the winner will be elected to a jury, composed of about eighty people who intend to join, and a technique which has five judges plus the President. This role has been confirmed, for the second year, Paul Marks, wine journalist and author of "Identity Greedy", the first Congress of Italian cuisine.
The chefs in the race to compete for a place in the Italian team that will compete in the next edition of Cous Cous Fest - scheduled for 25 to 30 September 2012 - for each round must prepare one hundred portions of cous cous and a flat-choreographed presentation. The three phases of the semi-finals will take place on 1 and 2 June, while the final Sunday, June 3, in Piazza Santuario in the eyes of all visitors and tourists.

Cous Cous Fest Preview, however, is not only culinary competition. During the weekend, in fact, visitors can participate in workshops with food tastings by local chefs, organized in the main square of San Vito Lo Capo and open to the public, but also attend a time dedicated to the knowledge of the main fish species of the area , on display and then auctioned at the fish market. At the end of the day, however, the program will be full of free evening concerts given by internationally acclaimed artists.
