Two eagles are among the smaller birds sighted within the reserve of the salt pans of Trapani and Paceco during the annual census of wild aquatic created as part of a European project that sees the coordination for Italy by the Istituto Superiore Research and Environment protection. In addition to the eagles have been counted some hawks, buzzards, peregrine falcon and a different marti fishermen. According to the leaders of WWF, which manages the reserve of salt, the presence of these birds "once again demonstrates the good health of the natural reserve and the perfect combination of the wild birds and salinicoltura". Participated in the census staff of WWF Italy and academic experts who have done so to draw cards for the three census areas in which the protected area is divided. Surveyed more than 3000 specimens including 300 flamingos, spoonbills 86, 1165 ducks, waders 1600 including dozens of rare plovers, herons 106.
