Back to the cloudy skies Sicily: it is a few minutes ago the news of the reopening of the total civilian flights to and from Trapani airport. Following the outbreak of unrest in North Africa - and Libya in particular - for several months (since last March to be precise) the port of Trapani has seen a drastic reduction in the availability of spaces for civil flights in favor of the emergency international which needed more military flights. The situation, though necessary, however, has had a heavy impact also on the outcome of last summer, due to the lack of a large audience in Sicily carried by Ryanair, just to mention one of the carriers is scoring big numbers in terms of passengers on this route. This afternoon, however, ENAC and Air Force have made it known that from today all the plots of the airport have been released and, therefore, every airline has reverted to the airlines operating on Trapani. Given the developments on the death of Libya and Qaddafi, the segment of the aviation sector is slowly returning to the situation before the riots, as well as the re-opening total of Trapani - Birgi is the proof. Recall also that for two weeks even Alitalia is back in Libya, with regular flights to the country of North Africa.
