The Region : calls later this year. In the list to the sea and the Castle of Favignana tuna New calls for a total sum of 350 million euro , to suggest that the private management of cultural sites : the publication will be made by 31 December this year, and will involve 146 sites regional , but not only. The Regional Councillor for Cultural Heritage, Lino Leanza, announced: " The calls will be directed to the re-evaluation, especially economic , places of culture. The list will be ready to compete later this month, but I can reveal that among them there will be the Castello a Mare to Palermo, Catania the Ancient Theatre and the Tobacco Factory , the tuna of Favignana , the Museum of Lipari and the Fortress of Porto Palo » . Sites that with careful management of development , could become the main reference points for the desired connection between culture and economy. Consider the case of the Castle in the Sea of Palermo , ancient Arab fortress rich in history and a veteran from the restoration of this summer, which overlooks the harbor of the city: perfect venue for performances, installations en plein air , concerts, could prove to be a place of great interest and attraction . The same can be said for the tuna of Favignana , also newly refitted for its architectural importance , huge ability to space has all the credentials to become a museum , exhibition space but also for a host of exception. To discover , again, the Tobacco Factory and the Ancient Theatre of Catania , the first example of industrial archeology and the second place is not even benefited from the same city, yet right in the middle of the road axis more important. The new project expands the list of sites, identify and get to 500 , adding to regional sites municipal, provincial , private and ecclesiastical goods , thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed with the CEI these days. The funds , all from the European Community , are also intended for UNESCO sites in Sicily, including Val di Noto , Syracuse, Pantalica , Palermo , Agrigento, Sicani Mountains and the area of Trapani , Aeolian and Peloritani . In practice , individuals who wish to participate in tenders must meet the established requirements, but will be free in the project proposal , calls for "a title " , there you will have to adhere to a series of stakes set by the Region. Slogan , " sharing " : funding by 20 percent for events financed by 40 percent for the construction of infrastructure , while the private sector will have a support of 50 per cent. "The limited resources - Leanza says - but also the awareness that in the last Por funding put in place , more than one billion two hundred million Euros , has not had a positive return , has led us to change the method of allocation of funds´ . The Department of Cultural Heritage will continue to have oversight over decisions , holding itself protection, conservation, property and scientific coordination.
