We have two weeks at the start of the fourth edition of the Challenge Trophy " Ignazio Florio ," invitational regatta organized by the Yacht Club Favignana. Four days and four nights in the name of sailing, entertainment and music will enliven this beautiful island of Sicily as it prepares to record yet another boom in attendance. To 40 boats will participate in Challenge Trophy cab , length not less than 9.50 meters , from all over Italy , who will be engaged in numerous tests : inshore and on buoys , in the fantastic scenery of the islands Egadi , the stretch of water between Favignana , Levanzo and Trapani.
The current holder of the Challenge Trophy Ignazio Florio is Tesorone Joseph , who won last year with his boat " The Eighth Sin" . But this year there are many who aspire to the prestigious trophy. Among these , two leading names of Italian sailing , bearer of the Yacht Club Favignana : Matteo Miceli and Andrew Fornaro . Matteo Miceli , the navigator record holder for crossing the Atlantic on a catamaran 20 ´ , will be the skipper Hanse 37 " Saudade " and will carry a competitive crew , which also disabled the Sicilian Fausto Firreri . Andrea Fornaro , probably in Olympic Star Class , will be at the helm of "Aurora" , the Canard 41 which has a victory at the prestigious Giraglia Rolex Cup this year. The event will conclude Saturday, September 19 with the award ceremony and the gala . In addition to the scope Trophy, will go to the winner Smart car , while the second and third place respectively will be two checks amounting to 6,000 and 3,000 Euros .
The event will , as every year , representatives of the world´s political and institutional and important characters of the show that will give life to the island a wonderful evening full of glamor and sport.
