Another event not to be missed is definitely the Valderice Carnival. Now in its 30th edition, the event occupies an important place in the panorama of the tourist offer of the territory, having attracted numerous visitors in the past.
The organizing committee, with the patronage of the municipality of Valderice, has prepared a program full of shows, performances by local groups and street artists to brighten up the evenings from February 23 to March 2.
Obviously, special attention will be given to the little ones, with fun moments of entertainment and the Mascherina d’Argento competition now in its 18th edition.
The highlight of the entire carnival event will be reached on Sunday, February 23 at 3:30 pm with the traditional parade of allegorical floats and dance groups that will travel along Via Vespri, the main street of Valderice.
The departure is scheduled from Viale Lazio, with arrival in Piazza Sandro Pertini at 7:00 pm when a tasting of typical products will begin, in the name of local gastronomic tradition.
To end the evening in style, the evening will end in Piazza Pertini with a performance by dance groups as part of the “Show Carnival” event.
On Fat Thursday, February 27, the show will continue with tastings. This time, couscous will be the protagonist, but seasoned with pork. The evening will end with a performance by dance schools from the province.
Carnival is also a time for inclusion, and that is why at the Molino Excelsior the Aba association will organize a moment of aggregation and inclusion with a project in favor of all special children, whose admission is free.
Also on Friday evening at 8:30 pm, after the tasting, the entertainment will continue with Chris Clun in an exhilarating cabaret show.
On Saturday evening, after the parade of children in costume, there will be a great moment of musical entertainment with the emotion of the dances that marked an era, to the notes of the songs and music of the early 2000s. To relive even for just one evening the great hits that made the history of Italian and international disco. The carnival in Valderice will end on Sunday 2 March with a new parade of allegorical floats. The itinerary will be the same as the previous Sunday, followed by the shows in the square and the final thanks.
