Everything is ready in Paceco for the sixteenth edition of the Carnival that this year will also color it with the craziest celebrations of the year and the parade of allegorical floats.
The event is better known as "Carnevalata di Paceco" and includes, like every year, moments of entertainment, especially for children for whom the carnival is a moment of joy and fun with music, games and inflatables.
Adults will not be forgotten, however, and this is why there will also be a Food and Shop area, where it will be possible to taste typical products and buy the many artisan products that are an expression of local culture and traditions.
The inauguration of this area, curated by MediExpo, will take place on February 27, Shrove Thursday, and will ideally represent a food and wine journey with food as the protagonist, especially pork, prepared and tasted in many ways: starting with busiate with pork ragù and arriving at the traditional dish of couscous prepared with pork and broccoli. For dessert, you can´t miss the Dattilo cannoli, also with the Bronte pistachio variant, the cassatelle and the fabulous chiacchere, a typical dessert of this period.
You can´t eat well if you don´t drink well, and that´s why the second day of the festival will be dedicated to "Bacco e Bollicine", a review of local wines and craft beers.
The beating heart of the carnival will be Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Paceco and the parade of allegorical floats with the participation of about 1,000 actors, including dancers, choreographers and other participants who in various capacities will parade through the main streets of the town on March 1 and 2, attracting visitors from all over Sicily.
There are many protagonists of the event: from the Pro Loco of Paceco that in collaboration with the municipal administration organizes the initiatives, to the many local associations involved in the fun competition in the creation of the floats.
Each evening of the carnival will close this year with various shows by Sicilian artistic groups, synonymous with fun, quality and competence.
