The seventeenth edition of the Stagnone di Marsala festival begins on Sunday 12 January at 6:00 pm with extraordinary author music. The festival will open with a concert by Francesco Baccini who, in Marsala, in the prestigious Teatro Impero, will perform his most beautiful songs with a completely renewed arrangement.
His voice, in fact, will be accompanied by the piano and an exceptional all-female string quartet so as to further enhance the content of his songs, never banal and reminiscent of the masters of the old Genoese school.
And it is precisely at the beginning of the nineties that his career really takes off when he definitively establishes himself as the heir to the great tradition of Ligurian singer-songwriters, in particular Fabrizio De Andrè, with whom he has collaborated over the years in magnificent duets.
However, there has been no shortage of collaborations with other authors from different musical worlds, such as Angelo Branduardi, Enzo Jannacci, Giorgio Conte and Lucio Dalla.
In 1990 he won the Festivalbar with the song “Sotto questo sole” but the greatest commercial success was achieved with “Nomi e cognomi” in 1992.
Baccini would later publish another 11 albums and today he dresses himself completely new with a more intimate music, which reflects his artistic maturity with a tour entitled “Archi e freccia”.
It almost seems like he is telling the audience to take good aim, draw the bow and rush to the Teatro Impero to attend one of the newest, most elegant and engaging shows of the Marsala musical festival.
