The Christmas lights are turned on again in Erice for the EricèNatale 2024 event which for the 11th consecutive year confirms itself as one of the classic Christmas events of the medieval village, with excellent feedback in terms of visitors who crowd the summit of Mount S. Giuliano during this period.
Like every year there will be a rich program of events scattered along a suggestive itinerary that winds through the courtyards, churches and the municipal library.
Here the artistic nativity scenes created by imaginative artisans who have reproduced the birth of Christ in many ways, from the most classic shape to the smallest in the world, reproduced on the head of a pin, have been set up.
For the joy of the little ones, Santa Claus´s house will not be missing. For adults instead there will be the traditional Christmas markets in Piazza della Loggia to buy food and wine products and artisanal creations that represent the best expression of local traditions.
The medieval village of Erice lends itself well to the magic of Christmas because, with its characteristic landscape, it seems like a huge nativity scene when its streets are filled with Christmas scents and flavors.
A refreshment point will be a must to warm up with a good cup of hot chocolate or to taste mulled wine.
During the Christmas period tourists and visitors will be able to admire the Giardino del Balio for the occasion transformed into an enchanted garden but which also represents a privileged observation point to observe the landscape below.
For the occasion, a rich calendar of musical events and high-level theatrical performances has been prepared, with street entertainment, the melodies of the bagpipers and the itinerant bands that will animate the streets of Erice.
