Also this year the traditional gastronomic event dedicated to the capone fish, in Sicilian dialect “capuna”, a soup fish that is caught in our seas and that for some years a far-sighted organization has decided to relaunch through a festival dedicated exclusively to this fish and the various recipes in which it can be prepared, returns to San Vito Lo Capo.
The capone, the lampruga, is not counted among the prized fish despite its many nutritional qualities and yet every year it manages to attract many tourists and visitors thanks to this very special event that includes tastings, meetings, cooking shows and shows.
The appointments of this eleventh edition are punctuated as always by individual events called: “Tempu ri manciari”, organized in collaboration with the San Vito Lo Capo Fishermen´s Association and the local Pro Loco who have created a system of tastings upon payment of a ticket.
Don´t miss the traditional event with "Tempu ri storie, sapure e pignate", with cooking shows organized by renowned chefs who, with their expert hands, will prepare dishes to tell the culinary story of a territory that, before becoming a tourist area of excellence, saw fishing as its driving industry.
Another part of the event will be "Tempu ri mercatu" which will take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October. Here it will be possible to learn about the various types of fish to be purchased through a public auction.
The last moment, the most entertaining, is called "Tempu di ririre e ri sunari" with fun moments of entertainment in Piazza Santuario; comedians, cabaret artists and singers.
