Near Macari, or in the Bay of Santa Margherita, a place that most people have learned to know thanks to the television drama of the same name, a rather original food and wine event is held every year which combines the flavors of the sea with those of the land in a union perfect that are the protagonists of the Bagli Olio e Mare event from 1st to 4th August.
This is the only event sponsored by the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo which is held outside the seaside village, but in the suggestive location between Castelluzzo and Macari, which is the setting for this unmissable event with traditional Sicilian cuisine, which is made of fish freshly caught, oil from the mill and scent of the sea.
For five days, visitors and tourists will be able to inebriate themselves by the sea, where they can have lunch and also dinner with a menu that takes up their grandmotherīs ancient recipes, made of simple and genuine things. In this whirlwind of smells and flavors, good wine and lots of music cannot be missing. Just good music to enjoy moments in company and joy in an extraordinary experience in contact with nature, without missing out on a day at the beach.
Castelluzzo and Macari are located at the entrance to San Vito Lo Capo and are an ideal destination for those seeking peace and tranquility and above all for those who love hiking or cycling on paths that are sometimes not yet beaten by the masses. And again the event also includes guided excursions to the various historical bagli, which are scattered throughout Castelluzzo and even today, many have been renovated, they constitute a perfect example of rural archaeology, surrounded by the greenery of the olive groves.
