The third edition of the Festival del Noir Mediterraneo will start on July 25th in Favignana, an event that will bring the greatest writers of screenplays for films and fiction to the Ex Stabilimento Florio.
From the most famous pens in Italy, the characters they invented come to life on the screen for an unmissable edition that will involve all lovers of literature and cinema.
Until July 28th, writers of the caliber of Gianrico Carofiglio, Alessandro Robecchi, Mariolina Venezia and Maurizio De Giovanni will parade in Favignana and will talk with Giancarlo De Cataldo about stories, intrigues and writing techniques to captivate the reader or spectator in a plot that must be compelling for those who approach it.
All the guests are authors of the noir genre, the so-called black novel, a variant of the detective genre whose protagonist is not the investigator but the victim.
One of the most interesting characteristics of the genre is the nihilistic tendency of the protagonist who must face not only his persecutor but also the complex political-legal system within which the story is woven.
The term Mediterranean Noir identifies a literary and television genre set in countries bordering the Mediterranean and written by authors coming from those same places.
Mediterranean noir established itself on the publishing market in the early nineties and is still consolidated today as it is linked to the historical, social and cultural heritage of the Mediterranean basin, full of myths and archetypes as fascinating as they are ancient.
