The sixteenth edition of the SicilAmbiente Film Festival event is at the starting line, a cultural review of cinema and literature scheduled from 15 to 20 July in San Vito Lo Capo.
Originally it was an event dedicated only to cinema but in recent years a space dedicated to literature has also been added to broaden the public´s tastes despite the fact that, at the basis of the event, there are always themes linked to the environment, sustainability and human rights.
The SicilAmbiente Film Festival program includes a busy schedule, with 6 days of screenings of works, divided into four competitive sections: fiction feature films, documentaries, short films and animations.
Location of the performances are two outdoor rooms set up in the garden of the town hall and on the beach of the tourist port of San Vito Lo Capo.
The special events, however, are three and represent moments of in-depth analysis on the topics covered within the event: in particular on Monday 15 July, the inaugural day of the event, there will be a moment of discussion organized by Amnesty International Italia on the topic of rights between music and words.
Another special moment is scheduled for July 16th at 9.15pm with the talk entitled "In memory of Franco Basaglia", the psychiatrist who promoted the law that led to the closure of mental asylums in Italy.
Finally, during the final evening the book "The future of transport" will be presented. How electric mobility will change our lives" by Greenpeace Italia.
SicilAmbiente Film Festival is organized by Demetra Produzioni with the patronage of the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo and is an event that over the years has grown so much as to turn the spotlight on issues so important that they have been included in the agendas of governments around the world .
