The sixteenth edition of Stragusto, the street food festival that transforms the former Fish Market square in Trapani into an open-air kitchen, is at the starting line. The most famous event of the summer is scheduled from 24 to 28 July with the patronage of the municipality of Trapani.
Stragusto concentrates smells and flavors from all over Italy and beyond in a single event, celebrating street food and taking visitors on a food and wine journey where culture and tradition meet.
There are many specialties that can be tasted; from the typical Palermo and Trapani ones up to the African and Romanian ones.
This year too there will be a wine tasting corner with the possibility of tasting excellent Sicilian and national wines. There is no good food if it is not accompanied by a good glass of wine, perhaps to drink in front of the sea and its spectacular sunsets from the walls of Tramontana. And even desserts, Sicilian granita and yellow Nubia melon.
The event, which opens from 6.30pm until late at night, includes not only the tasting of products in the appropriate stands but also moments of musical entertainment. Tickets will be on sale in the same square or in other information points scattered around the historic center
New to this sixteenth edition will be the stands dedicated to Greek, Hungarian and Palestinian cuisine, because promoting the cuisine of a people means promoting the tradition that is handed down between generations.
