Great anticipation in San Vito Lo Capo for the first edition of San Vito Vela Fest, a regatta born from the synergy between the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo and the Sicilian Sailing Center of Palermo.
There will be three days of very intense racing and it will start on Friday 31 May with the Palermo-San Vito Lo Capo offshore regatta starting from the Gulf of Mondello.
The other days will be dedicated to some regattas that will take place in San Vito on the buoys located in front of the beach, while other performances will have the gulf of the seaside village as their starting point.
San Vito Lo Capo is a melting pot of events created to attract the greatest number of tourists and visitors, each of whom has different interests, but everyone agrees when it comes to tasting the local food and wine products, in particular the couscous which will then get its attention in September with the Cous Cous Fest.
Returning to the sailing event, as we were saying, it will be a weekend full of many surprises, starting with the village, which will be specially set up to host products and services dedicated to sailing and then free introductory sailing courses for kids, who will do their exit into the sea, specially accompanied by the expert instructors of the Centro Mare Sport of San Vito Lo Capo.
For enthusiasts of small sailing boat models, demonstration regattas are planned with radio-controlled sailing models, environmental education courses for school students and in collaboration with the Lega Navale of Palermo, on 2 June, Republic Day, a Sailing simulator, where the Italian Sailing Federation will offer free trips to the sea with a deep-sea vessel.
The sea is fascinating, but you have to know how to love it and this is why the organization has reserved educational enrichment opportunities for the many amateurs for the right approach when going out into the open sea.
