Born at the end of the eighteenth century, in the bright bay between Capo San Vito and Punta Solanto, at the foot of Mount Monaco, San Vito Lo Capo (or as called in Sicilian, Santu Vitu) is one of the most famous summer resort of Sicily; Tourism in this town of about 4,000 inhabitants in the province of Trapani is primarily due to the beauty of its beach.
The town has become famous worldwide thanks to a special festival dedicated to a particular delicacy, or Cous Cous, because the Sicilian town, since 1998, hosts the "Cous Cous Fest", an overview of the Mediterranean world-class food and wine , where tackle only chef from over 8 different countries: Côte d'Ivoire, France, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Palestine, Senegal and Tunisia.
All these countries confront the main course offering that gives its name to the festival, the couscous, cooked according to the tradition of their country.

But in San Vito Lo Capo are not old only wine and food festival, but also cultural "books, authors and bougainvillea" this is one of cultural events taking place in summer each year and offers a series of meetings with authors in the street Venza, who resigned to take part in the main and best Italian writers.

But in addition to the gastronomic tradition, Santu Vitu (as called by the Sicilian) is most famous for its sea and its three miles of golden beach, fine and beautiful that rivals the most famous and popular marine havens in other states.
Difficult to pinpoint a particular stretch of beach where swimming, every little part is distinctive and charming, no current, sea bottom slopes gently out to sea and there is also the possibility of having the rocks.

One of the symbols of Santu Vitu is definitely the lighthouse, built under the Bourbon Kingdom since 1854 and access for the first time on August 1, 1859.
Very bright light, and night comes up to twenty nautical miles and dozens are the shipwrecks that have been avoided in past decades, thanks to its red light.
A very high tower, 43 meters, which can be seen up close since there is a walk which allows you to reach it.

To reach San Vito Lo Capo, who is forty and 90 km from Trapani airport to Palermo, you can use the numerous buses that travel the length and breadth of the island of Sicily.
