There is always one more reason to visit the island of Favignana to appreciate, especially in this period, the tranquility of the places and the natural beauty because Favignana is a beautiful island to experience not only in summer but also in winter and it is This is why we take the liberty of highlighting a cultural event on display at the former Stabilimento Florio, namely "Imaginarium-New productions and experiments in Italian photography".
This is a permanent photographic exhibition, organized by the On Image association in collaboration with the municipality of Favignana, the municipality of Gibellina, the Orestiadi Foundation, the national museum of 21st century arts in Rome and other important international partners, in which on display are the photographic productions of four Italian photographers, selected as part of a project promoted by the Ministry of Culture.
The four winning artists of this important cultural initiative were in Favignana for a certain period of time and with their shots they immortalized not the usual landscapes, but they captured the atmosphere of this area, which especially in the winter period when the crowds of tourists abandons the island and returns it to its inhabitants, they become magical.
Favignana in winter is a completely different place that only the expert shots of these four artists, who are Alessandra Calò, Nicolò Degiorgis, Giorgio di Noto and Valentina Vannicola, have been able to capture and with this exhibition they give back to those who want to take advantage of this cultural offer and tourist out of season.
As the mayor of Favignana himself declared, visitors will also have an additional opportunity to visit the old tuna factory, which until 1982 was the production center of the island and which has now become an extraordinary place of architecture, memory and culture.
