Saturday 27 May and Sunday 28 May the Cantine Aperte initiative is renewed, an event organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino to promote the culture of wine tourism in our country.
Some historic wineries of Marsala are happy to open their doors to tourists and visitors again this year for an excursion following an itinerary of taste which includes the tasting of famous local wines such as Marsala, combined with tasty gastronomic excellences of the area in a rich program specially prepared.
Not only wine or food, but there will also be many opportunities for cultural enrichment such as the presentation of books or conferences dedicated to food and wine.
At the Florio winery, for example, on Sunday 28 May the program includes the presentation of the book "Caro Pier Paolo" by Dacia Maraini at 11.00 am followed by a tour of the wineries to learn about the production process of making wine, accompanied, as we said, from delicious gastronomic accompaniments based on the type of ticket purchased.
In the afternoon, at 16.00, there will be another presentation of a book entitled "The adventure of Florio ... for children". Finally, from 11 to 19.30, it will be possible to participate in the scheduled events with the suggestive sunset accompanied by the tasting of a good wine.
Other wineries that will participate in the initiative are the Fazio winery, the Donnafugata winery, the Firriato di Paceco, the Giuseppe Alagna fu Antonio winery and the Orestiadi estates of Gibellina, which will open their doors to also emphasize respect for environment and drinking. Sustainability, the culture of wine and food will be the themes on which Sicily, in particular the province of Trapani, the most planted in Italy, will focus the spotlight during the event.
