An appointment absolutely not to be missed among the Christmas events in our area is certainly "The Bible in the Park", which is not a simple living representation of the birth of the Lord, but something more and also original.
And this is why the Pro Misericordia association of Valderice decided to create living static paintings with a biblical theme, set up along a path inside the Misericordia park, a fraction of the municipality of Valderice.
This initiative, which has now reached its twenty-sixth edition, has won several awards over the years, including the prestigious "Italialive" in 2016 as the best Christmas event of the year. The years have passed and its charm has really remained unchanged in contrast to the numbers which, on the other hand, have always grown to reach over 47,000 visitors in twenty-five years of activity.
The representation consists of ten scenes representing episodes from the Old and New Testaments, with the presence of 80 figures strictly dressed in period costumes to make the nativity of Jesus more effective in the eyes of visitors. Very suggestive is the lighting of the path with torches that develops for about 800 meters inside the Misericordia site.
It is an event that we take the liberty of pointing out because it is of great charm and beauty, in which art, faith, culture and entertainment are strongly intertwined and everything is surrounded by a great spirit of social commitment that distinguishes the men and women of the Pro Misericordia association which since 1997 have been strongly committed to the realization of an event that has had great success with the public.
