Also this year the municipal administration of Trapani and the July Musical Trapanese body have set up a calendar of appointments for next Christmas with events, shows, literary reviews, photographic exhibitions and the inevitable markets, while for the little ones inside a small carousel has been set up at the Villa Margherita.
The Christmas festival, now in its fourth edition, is called Mediterranean Christmas and aims to make the Christmas atmosphere joyful from 3 December to 8 January 2023.
The first event on the calendar will officially kick off on Saturday 3 December at the Villa Margherita with the symbolic switching on of the lights and then, again from the municipal gardens, the ATM train will leave to the delight of adults and children and will travel along the streets of the center historical.
Already the city is festively decorated and is ready for the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday 8 December and for the occasion citizens will be able to visit the Christmas market set up in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele by the Artigianando association of Palermo.
Also on 8 December in the afternoon the notes of bagpipes and fifes will resound through the streets of the historic center in a traveling musical show.
In addition, the TraDuMari Eventi association will embellish the staircase leading to the church of S. Domenico with the floral display that will tell the story of Christmas step by step and then in front of the Town Hall, the house of the Trapani people, around 5.30 pm the evocative show will begin fire as well as the sale of poinsettias to finance leukemia research.
A particularity of this year is that the Torre di Ligny will also be the center of the Christmas events organized by the Ermes onlus association, which will organize a cycle of four meetings in the third edition of the literary review "Books under the Tower" in the Sebastiano Tusa room , reserved for local artists and then from 15 December a photographic exhibition entitled "Trapani Yesterday and Today: comparison between past and present" will be open, in which photos taken from the Fundarò historical archive of bombed Trapani will be exhibited, comparing some historical sites with the current ones after the removal of the rubble and the destruction of the buildings that once stood on Trapani.
An authentic comparison that the new generations can do to get to know the city of yesterday and today better.
