With the usual slogan "Emotions with the nose up", the Kite Festival scheduled in San Vito Lo Capo resumes from 23 to 29 May and represents another important manifestation of the tourist season of the seaside village.
This year will be the twelfth edition and promises to be full of fun events not only for children, but also for adults, since the kite represents the symbol of childhood and a fun that all of us as children have had regardless of social and family status.
It is a street game that costs little to make and has few pretensions and that is why it retains its charm intact even today.
The success of an event that year after year continues to grow, even becoming international thanks to the presence of numerous guests who come from all over the world, is based on this nostalgic aspect of the kite.
What you breathe in San Vito Lo Capo during the days of the event is an atmosphere of creativity and joy, which also launches very important social messages, ranging from ecological transition to world peace.
And this year the message of peace is being reaffirmed even more strongly due to the war in Ukraine, which is killing thousands and threatening to involve other countries in a war madness that we thought behind it.
As always, there will be workshops for children and some stands will be set up in the huge village for tasty tasting moments of typical local products, in particular street food for both lunch and dinner.
On the opening day of the festival there will be a moment of commemoration of the Capaci massacre to remember Giovanni Falcone, Francesca Morvillo and the escort agents thirty years after the massacre.
Not only fun, therefore, but also reflection so as not to forget the heroes of our days.
For the rest, all fun that is framed by the crystalline sea and the golden sand of San Vito Lo Capo.
