Christmas is time for nativity scenes and that is why we like to point out the exhibition "Nativity and Nativity Scenes" organized by the body "La Strada della Passione", a non-profit association established a few months to promote the Procession of the Mysteries from a cultural point of view. and everything that revolves around the rites of Holy Week in Trapani.
But what does Holy Week have to do with Christmas?
Liturgically nothing, but from a cultural point of view yes, because the exhibition of the cribs is located in the church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory, where the Sacred Groups of the Mysteries are kept throughout the year, while the various expressions of the noblest traditional crib art they are taken care of by the various classes who organize the Good Friday procession.
Not only Mysteries, therefore, but the activity of the La Strada della Passione association takes place all year round, directly and indirectly promoting what revolves around the centuries-old procession of the Mysteries, which has not been held for two years now due to the pandemic. .
But there will be a way to talk about this later, what is important now is Christmas with all its traditional rites that the people of Trapani and beyond will be able to visit until January 6 together with collateral events.
On 19 and 26 December, in fact, there will be a historical-cultural itinerant guided tour of the cribs with musical performance by the association Banda Musicale Cittą di Erice with departure scheduled at 5.10 pm from the Anime Sante del Purgatorio Church for the historic center. of the city.
The events, which will be held in compliance with Covid 19 legislation, are organized in collaboration with the Union of Workers and the Italian Red Cross.
