Summer in San Vito Lo Capo never ends and it is for this reason that a beautiful event that is part of the Italian sport fishing championship will start from 6 to 8 October with a view to the seasonal adjustment of the tourist season.
Fipsas, the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing, has promoted three days in the fishing village of underwater photography in a sort of safari to make a naturalistic excursion with the main objective of "capturing" the greatest number with a simple photo shoot. of different species of fish, always respecting the marine environment.
What will be realized in the first period of October is a stage of the Italian photographic safari championship, which unfortunately did not take place last year due to the pandemic.
The event is, as always, an opportunity for tourism, because in San Vito Lo Capo will be called athletes experts in underwater activities and fin swimming from all over Italy and will have its prologue on Wednesday 6 October with the presentation of the championship and the greetings of the municipal administration, while from Thursday 7 October it will start to get serious with the conduct of the races in various marine locations of the territory that are real competition fields.
One of these is the stretch of water found in the Tonnara del Secco area three kilometers from San Vito Lo Capo.
The safari formula is that of boat diving and competitors can only participate with underwater digital cameras.
It is mandatory to have a knife and whistle to attract attention to the diver mark in case of need, while the use of any type of optics and lighting is recommended.
Each competitor is free to take as many shots as he deems appropriate and the memory card must contain a maximum of 71 images (including the competitorīs photo).
All subsequent images will not be considered valid. Furthermore, during the competition, the competitor is allowed to select the images taken, deleting the excess or the worst, but only during the competition hours and necessarily in the water.
A special jury will then choose the best photo, thus decreeing the winner of the event.
