The program of the summer festival of the medieval village of Erice has finally been defined, which sees from 4 July to 4 November a rich calendar of events and events that will cheer the many tourists who flock to Erice during the summer.
The review is sponsored by the Municipality of Erice and there are many protagonists ranging from music to theater, from literature to children´s games and from medieval re-enactment to conventions and cultural conferences.
An exceptional partner of the summer festival is the Amici della Musica association, which has organized a series of classical music concerts in the courtyard of the Sales Palace.
Starting from 11 July and for several evenings at 9 pm there are many appointments and then arriving at the first week of September where the traditional appointment with an entire week dedicated to medieval music will be staged in the church of San Martino.
Still on the subject of the Middle Ages, do not miss the Federicina Festival, which from 25 to 27 September will commemorate the arrival in Erice of Frederick III of Aragon, King of Sicily, and of his wife Eleonora with tasting of typical medieval Erice products and traveling shows. .
On 23 July, there will be an exceptional guest, Vittorio Sgarbi, who will hold a Lectio Magistralis on the theme "De Chirco and Ventrone: the victory of painting".
Still on the subject of conventions and conferences, do not miss the 13 August at 6.00 pm in the courtyard of the Sales Palace the conference by Luigi Gianni Trapani entitled "Journey to the Neverland", a reinterpretation of the famous work Shakespeare´s "The Tempest".
Space then for music with several concerts that will have the tennis courts as location: it starts on July 25 (the event has been rescheduled on the 11th of September) with the musical "Sorelle" which tells the story of the troubled beginnings of the sisters Mia Martini and Loredana Bertè, while on August 11 it will be on stage the jazz concert with Mauro Carpi and his band.
In this summer festival, children will not be forgotten with a traveling show that will wind through the streets of the historic center on August 12-16-17-18.
To conclude the exhibition there will be in autumn Le Vie dei Tesori and the FAI Days which in the past have met with great success because the aim is to make known the great cultural and natural wonders that only Erice can offer.
