It is autumn. It smells of earth and new wine, and the desire to celebrate the success of a year's work in the vineyard and winery. The vineyards are naked and they face the winter, while in the tanks and barrels have made the fermentations that have led to unique expressions of land and civilization. In this anniversary Donnafugata wants to promote wine culture, participating in the third edition of "San Martino in Cantina," a happening devised by the National Movement for Wine Tourism to celebrate the harvest has just ended.
The historic cellars in Marsala (Via S. Lipari, 18) will thus be open to the public from 19 to 22 Saturday, November 13 and the spirit of the festival will touch its peak at the time of tapping and taste the new wine as tradition of San Martino.
In an intimate and lively, the participants will be guided to visit the cellars and can enjoy a preview of the mono-varietal harvest 2010: Catarratto, Chardonnay, Ansonica, Nero d'Avola, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon of the estate of Countess Entellina Besides the passage that the company produces grapes from Pantelleria Zibibbo and that many months will bear the label Ben Rye. Angel of Brolo and sought capicollo Nebrodi of Black Pig, the ricotta hot macco the bean and cheese with a rich assortment ranging from Vastedda of Belice, to breed goats and Girgentana Caciocavallo Ragusa, roasted chestnuts from live married to the red, the typical sweets, such as "biscotti di San Martino" to munch on, or soaked in wine.
Food, wine and music, too, the scene of "The Musicians" led by Gregorio Caimi, which propose a fine review in acoustic folk music of Sicily.
