The first cultural event in Favignana of this 2021 tourist season is the fourth "Isola di Favignana" poetic gathering, a competition between poets who will have the opportunity in the evocative setting of Palazzo Florio to declaim their poetry both in Italian and in Sicilian dialect.
It is a competition in which the same participants will vote for the work considered most deserving, which will win the prestigious "Isola di Favignana" award, while each competitor will receive a plaque in memory of the event. In addition, all the poets will participate in the drafting and publication of an anthology that contains all the verses declaimed on this occasion.
Although the heart of the event is represented by the poetry contest, there will also be a literary moment with the intervention of a very special guest, who is the writer of Favignana origin, Antonietta Torrente Parolin, who was greatly appreciated by the general public who loves to read, for the publication of the book entitled "A family is forever" and then of a recipe book "The first recipes are never forgotten".
There will also be a guest of honor, the writer Alfonso Campisi, from Trapani, professor of Romance philology at the University of Tunis, who last year received the prestigious honor of Knight from the President of the Republic precisely for his merits acquired in the field of letters and arts.
Returning to the poetic gathering, which will see the participation of important poets from the province of Trapani, it will have its prologue on Sunday 6 June in Marettimo and then the conclusion with a great event on Sunday 13 June at 10 even if the seats will be evaluated based on to the anti Covid prescriptions on the subject of physical distancing.
