Not even this year due to the Covid emergency there will be the traditional procession of the Mysteries and who would have thought that for two consecutive years the people of Trapani would be deprived of a tradition that only the war had prevented for many years in a row.
Yet the period we are experiencing is as if we were at war, not against an army of men but against an invisible enemy, which we hope to win as soon as possible.
The Unione Maestranze has found a way, albeit in streaming mode, to make all the people of Trapani and distant tourists participate in the Lenten rites, starting with the scinnute, which have been made available through the facebook page of the association that organizes Holy Week in Trapani.
Again this year, social networks will be the only channel through which the rites of Holy Week can be watched.
There will obviously not be the traditional processions of Holy Tuesday and Holy Wednesday with the two Madonnas, but in agreement with the rector of the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory and with the city authorities there will be prayer vigils that will last throughout the afternoon until 8 pm. , 30.
The church during all these moments will be closed to avoid gatherings, but it will be open again to everyone with quota entries on Thursday and Friday, because even if the Sacred Groups will not be in procession through the streets of Trapani, they will, however, be decorated, as if they were going to go out.
During the afternoon of Good Friday, the funeral marches will be broadcast on the radio through the streets of the historic center, thus giving the impression to those who walk, that the Mysteries have come out.
For some it could be an illusion, but for those who have faith and devotion, spiritual closeness is very strong with the Passion of Christ and above all strong is the hope that soon this long Good Friday, which the whole of humanity is experiencing, will be able to as soon as possible to finish with the real Easter of Resurrection, which will wipe out this ugly disease.
