A traditional Christmas event would certainly have been "The Bible in the Park", which is not a simple representation of the nativity with living characters, but a real themed transposition of biblical episodes with living characters wearing faithful period costumes that they make the account of Jesusī birth narrated by the Holy Scriptures truly faithful.
This year for reasons related to the health emergency, the twenty-fourth edition of this event, organized by the cultural association "Pro Misericordia" of Valderice and with the patronage of the municipality of Valderice, takes place in a completely different way, no longer live , but in digital format on social networks and on the website of the same association to relive the coming of the Son of God into the world perhaps in a slightly more spiritual key.
The theme on which the entire representation will unfold this year could only be suffering, which is already intrinsic to the human condition, but today due to Covid, which has caused more than one and a half million deaths in the world, it it takes on a different dimension, raising questions to which reason cannot give an answer.
Is there perhaps an answer to the question "Why did God allow all this"? No, there is no answer, because the pandemic does not represent the will of God, but the sin of man, that only the advent of the Messiah is able to free man from this slavery of pain, which precisely suffering causes.
This year, the organization opted for the creation of nine scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
No living characters in static pose, but some photographs, in panoramic format and not with the inclusion of some captions.
