The Cous Cous Fest of San Vito lo Capo has been suspended due to COVID-19
It seemed that this year the traditional gastronomic festival linked to couscous was not taking place due to the health emergency from Covid 19, instead the organization headed by the municipality of S. Vito Lo Capo has done everything to be able to carry it out regularly from September 18 to 27, even if the concerts with the big names of Italian music have been canceled to avoid crowds. The heart of the event, however, remains and beats, because the protagonist is cous cous in all its gastronomic variations.
In fact, all the moments of the tastings that will be held in the Case del Cous Cous have been confirmed, huge pavilions scattered in various points of the seaside village to allow visitors, every day from 12 to 24, to savor the many recipes proposed by the chefs that come from various parts of the world. Always remaining on the gastronomic theme from 12 to 24 in via Savoia, in via Regina Margherita and along the seafront, visitors in the Expo Villages will be able to take a tour of the lively Sicilian and Mediterranean artisan production with free admission. Finally, there will be cooking shows with the greatest Italian chefs, wine tasting and the various phases of the Italian and international cous cous championship with the respective final awards that will be on Saturday 19 and Saturday 26 September.
This year is the XXIII edition and we said that there will be no musical concerts, but equally the organization has reserved for every single day of the event different moments of entertainment with the speakers of Radio Marsala Centrale that every morning at 11.00 in Piazza Santuario they will delight tourists with live music.
Piazza Santuario, therefore, will be the center of entertainment this year even if there will be cultural insights with the story of Sicilian fairy tales and some contests promoted by the European project I.C.A.R.E. to talk about immigration and how good food can be an opportunity for integration.
It is a Cous Cous Fest with a slightly different flavor but no less good even if it is necessary to respect a security protocol with quota entrances in Piazza Santuario with registration and temperature measurement.
